My preference is for Option B as there is more emphasis around community safety, wellbeing, regeneration and prevention of crime. This gives the Designing Out Crime Officer more sections of policy to work with to help ensure new developments are safe places. Option B mentions crime prevention, which is what I would be wanting to see within a local plan. Sustainability and tackling climate change are aided by safe spaces, crime prevention and low crime, through the reduction in carbon footprint brought about by an incident not taking place in the first place.
