This should also be extended for geothermal well develop;ment which uses much of the same technology and approaches. This are is going to take of in a big way in the next 10 yers due to availaboility of new borehole technologies which will enable much more cost effective and much deeper boreholes to be cretaed for thermal energy use. Thi s may also require some fracking for hydrothermal borehole preparation

The current policy is used by Travellers to get a foothold on land by getting planning This is an area of planning abuse resulting in blight and serious concerns to to residents. Permission is first sought to build stables then, put down hardstanding and then caravans appear. The travellers then apply for planning permission, then appeals but the site is changed for good. The appeals often being won due to lack of rigorous planning rules. The policy needs to be explicit in that any unapproved development ( planning applications in train will be classed as unapproved) will require the whole site to be cleared /restored and any previous planning permissions revoked.
